School of Environmental Arts Therapy: 2022 -2023 Training

Anna and Lydia are delivering experiential teaching days on the SEAT Training course this year…

We have been putting a lot of love and time into planning and delivering some experiential days for the School of Environmental Arts Therapy in Devon this year. It has been a real privilege to be involved in the delivery of such a rich, creative and dynamic training and in such a beautiful setting within the landscape of West Town Farm, Ide, Devon. Anna and I have delivered February and March, May and September Saturdays of the training and draw from the material and wisdom in Ian Siddons Heginworth’s book Environmental arts therapy and the Tree of life.

We have just been privileged to witness an incredible cohort of trainees complete the cycle of the year and receive their certificates in environmental arts therapy. After sailing their ships of renewal in the estuary of the river Exe and presenting art works and performance on the land the group participated in an incredibly moving Elder ceremony held in the Grove (a beautiful space where there is an established circle of trees in accordance with the ancient Celtic tree calendar). Here we acknowledged the growth and accomplishment in each group member after completing a powerful and very emotional journey together and with the land.

The next year the course and the land of environmental arts therapy with SEAT will lay fallow, to gather energy and a new cohort for the following year. Do get in touch if you are a qualified arts therapist and are considering this training. During this fallow year we will be delivering workshops and trainings at conferences and in various natural spaces… information to follow.
